People are intrinsically insecure. Men, in particular, hold a precarious place in society: they need to prove themselves (which means taking risks) or potentially never find a mate. But there’s something highly credible in owning your insecurity. As in so many paradoxes of life, the end result delivers the exact opposite of what it first implies. There’s so much power in owning your powerlessness.

A few weeks ago, someone wrote on my video that I was seeking validation outside myself and was essentially insecure. And that got me thinking, what a great prompt for a video.

So, in this video, I get real and address the truths behind insecurity. Creativity and beauty come from our vulnerabilities, as does the drive to succeed and the need for significance and connection with others. As Shakespeare apparently said, ‘All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players’. Who am I to argue?
