In this vid, I will offer you a better way of thinking about and dealing with difficult people. You know the ones? They trigger a feeling inside you that probably has a sense of injustice and unfairness. It might trigger anger, frustration, or defensiveness, but it’s something that you really, really don’t like. As it appears in the story in your mind, this person is hell-bent on making you feel uncomfortable. They’re almost gleefully chuckling about making you feel bad.

Consider those triggered moments, and therefore, the person doing the trigger, to be a gift, a tutor, shining a light on the part of you that needs attention. The feelings inside us are caused by our perceptions, not by the other person, but they are informing you of a part of yourself that you are ill at ease with. And there’s an opportunity there to make better friends with yourself.
